Our story begins with a simple frustration.
In 2022, our co-founders—Alex Rivera and Dr. Maya Chen—were working on separate projects at two different tech companies. Both were tasked with making their products accessible. Both were handed a 200-page PDF checklist and told to "just figure it out."
They quickly realized the existing tools were either too shallow (just basic color contrast checks) or impossibly complex (requiring a PhD in WCAG to understand). Accessibility consultants were expensive and slow. Overlays were deceptive and often made things worse. There had to be a better way.
So they built it. Scansive was founded in early 2023 with a clear vision: to make accessibility monitoring clear, actionable, and human-centered. We combined Alex's engineering expertise and Maya's AI ethics research to build an engine that doesn't just find problems—it explains them and shows you exactly how to fix them.
Today, Scansive is trusted by over 1,200 companies—from fast-growing startups to Fortune 500 enterprises—across 40+ countries. We're still the same small, passionate team that believes accessibility is a journey, not a finish line. And we're just getting started.

How a global retailer achieved 100% WCAG 2.2 AA compliance
A multinational e-commerce company with over 10,000 product pages faced increasing pressure from legal teams to address accessibility complaints. Their previous tool produced overwhelming, unclear reports that left their dev team frustrated and stalled.
They switched to Scansive. Within three months, they reduced their accessibility issue backlog by 78%. Our AI-powered scanning prioritized critical failures, and our actionable remediation guides allowed their junior developers to fix issues independently without constant expert hand-holding.
By month six, they achieved full WCAG 2.2 AA compliance across all 10,000+ pages. Their organic traffic from users with disabilities increased by 23%, and they successfully defended a demand letter with our comprehensive audit reports and Legal Shield documentation.
